While taking computer courses and working in her aunt's travel agency, a 30-year-old Greek-American woman (Nia Vardalos) meets the man of her dreams (John Corbett). The only problem is that he's not Greek, and thus she begins to realize how important her family and being Greek are to her when she contemplates eloping in order to avoid her family's busybodies.
