Writer/director David Lynch originally intended this film as the pilot of a TV series. It is set in Hollywood and it follows the lives of several people whose paths cross; the
narrative twists around a car crash, amnesia, several murders, a silent dwarf, a mysterious figure in western garb and other curiosities. It is never clear what is real and what is an illusion. With
