Based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. Set in 2054, criminals are no longer arrested and tried after they commit a murder. Instead, using "psychic" technology, precops working for the Precrime Unit predict murderous acts and arrest citizens before the crime is committed. Tom Cruise is one such precop, who suddenly finds himself accused of the impending murder of a man he's never met and doesn't even know.
